Return to my Universe

I’ve had a difficult stretch recently, and I want to thank everyone for sticking around until I returned. I always take a few weeks to recover after the Halloween season. Raising Ravenfell Manor from the Netherworld is a huge undertaking that takes a lot out of me.
This past year, however, Halloween took a bit more than usual. When I should have been getting back to normal, I was struggling with breathing issues and weakness that wouldn’t relent. Five months later, I am finally recovering. We still don’t have all the answers, but I can breathe again, which has helped me return to writing.
I’ve begun rebuilding my body and mind after months of inactivity. Part of that journey is to continue my writing goals from the previous year. Since it’s been so long between updates, here is what I’m working on.
My current goal is to complete my Guardians of the Tide series. The first 2 installments of the five-book series, Moonrise’s Call and Song of the Rising Deep, are already published and available for sale. Before my work was paused, I completed the first draft of book 3 and half of book 4.
Since returning to my writing, I’ve added over ten thousand words to book 4, completing another quarter of the first draft. Another quarter to go, and I will move on to writing the 5th and final installment.
While these are only rough first drafts, the biggest challenge of writing a book is literally writing it. Profound, isn’t it? Haha. Filling in the details and editing are relatively easy in comparison to just finishing the story.
Those are the goals I have set for myself as I begin my slow recovery. I hope you will join me on this journey and follow along. I will be posting additional progress through my website’s blog. You can receive email updates on my posts by subscribing to my website or follow me on Facebook and watch for my shared blog posts there.
Feel free to add comments and questions below. I’d love to see them.
Catch up with the series on the Guardians of the Tide page of my website.
